Rovinj’s Night attracts over 30,000 visitors

Over 30,000 visitors came to the town of St. Euphemia to attend the Rovinj’s Night festival, soak up the great atmosphere and enjoy everything this wonderful event taking place on the Adriatic shore has to offer. For the last fifty-five years the end of August in Rovinj is reserved for this wonderful event and in a way marks the end of the summer season. The event organizer is the Town of Rovinj Tourist Board and in a way the festival, with its spectacular fireworks and a great line-up of live music, is a big thank you to guests who have chosen Istria and Rovinj for their summer holiday and their hosts who offered them a warm and friendly welcome in their homes and establishments.

In addition to an array of gastronomic delicacies and fine wine, the event saw a rich musical program taking place on two stages for two nights in a row. On the first evening the main stage and town square welcomed two premier local bands, the Funbox and the Party band, while in the Riviera Square visitors enjoyed the Lagana band and the Energy. The night was filled with singing and dancing and every square inch surrounding the stages became a dance podium.

On the second evening there was a spectacular display of fireworks this event is already widely famous for. For 15 minutes visitors on the promenade, town squares and streets gazed at the sky to see the magical Rovinj sky light up with wonderful lights. The fireworks and starry sky provided a great backdrop for a concert by the brightest star in the Croatian musical sky - Severina. Everyone knew the lyrics of her hits, from Prijateljice to Dalmatinka, Tvoja prva djevojka, Brad Pitt, Italiana and the latest hit Silikoni. Djevojka sa sela is also still a huge hit and fans from all parts of Istria came to enjoy the singer’s performance and infectious beats from the Le Mond, a cover band which is a guarantee of a great musical evening and fun until early morning hours. Another addition to the festival and always a hit with festival goers is a parade organized by the Rovinj Brass Band and Rovinj Majorettes loudly announcing the event while being repeatedly photographed by visitors. The food and drink supplier, same as the last time, was Maistra and members of the House of Batana Association and premium wines were presented by Vivoda, Smoljan and Matošević, while the renowned Istrian prosciutto was presented by the Milohanić family, famous prosciutto makers.
