In cooperation with the Rovinj Underwater Activities Club and the Diver Sport Center - Rovinj, the Tourist Board organized the traditional eco-action aimed at cleaning Rovinj’s undersea area for the 17th time.

In cooperation with the Rovinj Underwater Activities Club and the Diver Sport Center - Rovinj, the Tourist Board organized the traditional eco-action aimed at cleaning Rovinj’s undersea area for the 17th time.
This whole-day event gathered 250 divers from about fifty local clubs as well as clubs from the neighboring countries, Slovenia, Serbia and Italy. The cleaning took place at the following locations: Lone Cove and City Port. According to Tourist Board Director Odeta Sapač, the main and mutual goal of the organizers and divers is to preserve our only sea and set an example for younger generations, emphasizing that the sea is not and may never be a dump.
Unfortunately, in spite of the several-year-long campaign, run this year under the slogan „Joining Hands Once Again to Clean Rovinj’s Undersea Area“, the cleaners pulled out so many things from the depths of the azure Adriatic Sea that do not belong there, mainly plastic and glass bottles, cans, car tires, cast-off fish traps and several cafe chairs even.
After the eco-action at the Villas Rubin Tourist Complex had ended, 300 young bass were released into the sea, thus successfully completing the stocking of the area.
Along with the invitation to the next gathering, all participants in the cleaning also received letters of thanks and gifts.
