If you were already so unfortunate to miss out on the chance to hear her sing, don’t miss out on the opportunity to hear what she has prepared for us. Who? Tamara Obrovac, of course, the organizer of the Rovinj World Music Festival who brought Kastav, a women’s a capella vocal ensemble from Kastav, and Terra Folk, a Slovene band composed of young and musically educated members, on the Monte summer stage.

“Absolutely superb!” would be the telegraphic commentary to what the people of Rovinj and their guests had the opportunity to hear on the Monte summer stage, prepared for them by this unique ethno musician. Tamara was, namely, the Program Consultant and Organizer of the Rovinj World Music Festival, also supported by the Tourist Association and the City of Rovinj.

The opening ceremony of the World Music Festival was held after several bitinadas had been performed by the members of the Marco Garbin Cultural and Artistic Society.

Always interesting because of the particular way in which they are sung (the singers imitate the sounds of instruments), the bitinadas thrilled the audience from the start. The performers, the women's a capella vocal ensemble Kastav, received great applause and were called back on the stage for an encore.

The musical activity of this exceptional women's a capella vocal ensemble is directed towards the preservation of cultural heritage so that the audience had the opportunity to hear the songs characteristic of the Croatian Primorje Region, Istria, as well as Dalmatia. The Slovene band Terra Folk use their talent to enrich the folk and ethno music with elements of rock and jazz.

The works of Mozart and Bach sounded magnificently beneath the walls of St. Euphemia's Church, as did the compositions of these exceptionally talented musicians. The performers awarded the audience with two encores. There would have probably been more, had the clock not struck 1 am.
The musical experience was enriched by romantic candle and torchlight, as well as gastronomic delicacies provided by Maistra.
