For the ninth year in a row, the Tourist Board of the Town of Rovinj organized an event called the Night of St. Lawrence featuring once again over a hundred performers on nine stages.

The event called The Night of St. Lawrence, which accentuates the romantic spirit of Rovinj, will be organized this year for the nineth year in a row. This is the night when the falling stars called „the tears of St. Lawrence“ are most clearly seen in the sky. The waterfront night lighting will be turned off and torches will be lit instead in order to further accentuate the town’s romantic spirit. The numerous hotel and restaurant terraces will radiate candlelight, and the atmosphere will be completed by romantic music.

The romantic spirit of Rovinj will be further enriched by the dim light effects that will colorfully embellish the town square. The program will start with a promenade walk and a dance performance by the members of a dance ensemble. Dressed in court gowns and accompanied by musicians and torch lights, the dancers will give a hint as to the spirit of the entire event. Romantic music, opera arias and evergreens will be performed on a series of stages that will be set up across the town especially for this occasion.

The event program will be further enriched by a presentation of olive oils, wines and agricultural products produced by the members of Agrorovinj, an agricultural association based in Rovinj, accompanied by a selection of culinary delights prepared especially for the occasion by Maistra.

Romantic Rovinj under Candlelight

For the ninth year in a row, the Tourist Board of the Town of Rovinj organized an event called the Night of St. Lawrence featuring once again over a hundred performers on nine stages.

Those most familiar with the Rovinj summer night festivities know that the Night of St. Lawrence is, besides the must-see Rovinj Night, the greatest entertainment program attraction of Rovinj as a tourist destination. During the event, rivers of people flow into the town, and each year an increasing number of seats and parking spaces are required.

This year's exceptionally rich event was significant in terms of figures as well. More precisely, the town of St. Euphemia achieved two million overnight stays on Saturday, August 8, five days earlier than last year, thus earning the flattering title of the leader in tourism. Such excellent results were pretty good reasons to celebrate luxuriously, enjoying performances by numerous entertainers under candle and torch light.

The Detour band gave an excellent performance thrilling the audience at the Marshall Tito Square. Later, Massimo Savić took over the same stage and gave his heart to the audience in a two-hour performance. The excellent band Meritas performed at the Riviera Square, followed by songwriter Luce (aka Croatian Adele). The ‘event inside the event’ was a performance called Mozart is Coming to Visit given by the members of Opera b.b. - Lidija Horvat Dunjko, Blanka Tkalčić, Ronald Braus, Rade Radolović and Davor Ljubić - on the plateau in front of the Church of St. Francis. Local performers also gave powerful performances. The Eliđo & Boris Duo performed in front of the Rio Bar, ensuring a great atmosphere at the waterfront. The Shipyard Square was also cheerful and song-filled thanks to the Davor and Gracijano Terzić Duo, while the Pignaton Square resounded cheerfully thanks to the Stand by Duo. The Dream Project band, which gave a performance on sea rocks and the Baluota town beach, gathered a large number of own fans and was definitely the most photographed event during this starry night. The beautiful members of the Roxanne dance group dressed in crinolines, parading and dancing around the town under torch light accompanied by the sound of violins, were just as attractive. Maistra Hotel Company and the House of Batana Association were this year once again responsible for catering services.
