By cleaning walking paths from weed and coves from plastic bottles and nylon bags at sea members of the Hunter’s Association Rovinj concluded this year’s spring eco actions of cleaning the shoreline, sea bed and islands organized by the Rovinj Tourist Association.

About fifty hunters participated in the jubilee or the 20th eco action in a row on one of the most beautiful islands of Rovinj, a place where clergy lived in the 12th and the 13th century.

With hedge-clippers, rakes and reaping hooks they cleared the island paths so this year’s visitors shall enjoy passable and arranged paths. During cleaning, the hunters found a nest with pheasant eggs and their voices startled one larger resident of the island – a fallow deer. An eighty year-old hunter, Mr. Viktorio Iskra, from Rovinjsko Selo also joined the action. Iskra explained that there is nothing more satisfying for a hunter with forty-five years of experience than living in harmony with the nature and fauna.

During the action, the Mayor of Rovinj, Mr.Giovanni Sponza and the Deputy Mayor, Mr. Marino Budicin in the company of the Manageress of the Rovinj Tourist Association, Mrs. Odeta Sapač, visited the hunters.

In their conversation with the hunters, the representatives of Rovinj and the Tourist Association emphasized the need for stronger promotion and tourist valorization of the island whose centre is dominated by a little church with one of the most beautiful church towers in the Rovinj area.
