Austrian Brass Quintet, founded in 1989. by the musicians from Koruska, held a concert in St Euphemia's Church. In the first part of the program they performed Mozart's 'Figaro's wedding', Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D minor as well as compositions by the two famous Baroque music masters – Philip Telemann's 'Sonata in B major' and Vivaldi's Concert in C major RV 537'.
In the second part of the program, the Austrian brass musicians received a long and deserved applause after each composition.
After the intermission, they performed religious songs 'The Battle of Jericho', 'Nobody knows..' and 'Swing Low, Sweet Chariot' by Enrique Crespo, the 4 out of 24 written compositions from opus 'Do You Know Emperor Joe?' by German composer Werner Pirchner and a popular suite 'Westside Story' by Leonard Bernstein.
The last performed compositions were Enrique Crespo's 'Samba Gaucho' and 'Son de Mexico’ from the piece 'Suita Americana'. But the audience wanted more so the Quintet returned to the stage to perform Mozart's 'Rondo alle Turco' .
The members of the Austrian Blowing Quintet are famous for the special attention that they give to the original chamber music for brass musicians and their search for the new ways of bringing the serious music closer to the wider audience.
Music repertoire is wide including the pieces of the Renaissance composers as well as the contemporary artists.
