Despite qualms that the traditional Rovinj Night, moved from Saturday onto Sunday due to bad weather, could be poorly visited, this didn’t happen. On the contrary, streams of cars from Bale and Kanfanar poured into Rovinj all night long, in order for the people to hear numerous performers live, the ranks of who were lead by the king of the show world Tony Cetinski, and enjoy one of the finest fireworks in the Adriatic. And that all of this was just so is confirmed by the words of numerous visitors who were able to witness it during the twenty minutes of glitter. Its attractiveness is vouched best by the words of a couple from Venice, who had just started telling about the beauty and splendour of the one across the Adriatic prior to its start. Having seen and experienced the dance of sparks over the ceiling of the Church of St Euphemia, they candidly stated: we cannot tell which one is more attractive. Trying to find the best position from which to see the fireworks, Rovinj folk and their guests, as usually, thronged along the entire quay, town streets and squares, managing to find even those unusual locations, such as ship masts, tree branches or roofs.

The firworks over, the musical treat on the square commenced. Tony Cetinski and his band not only made the crowd sing but dance as well. Performing his hits, among which were "Blago onom tko te ima" (Lucky is the One Who Has You), "Ako to se zove ljubav" (If This is What You Call Love), "Ja sam zaljubljen" (I’m in Love), "Zbog nje" (Because of Her), "Što si ti meni" (What Are You to Me), "Kad žena zavoli" (When a Woman Loves), the merry spirited Tony also proved to be a superb entertainer, treating the audience with a tunes by Zdravko Čolić, U2, Halid Bešlić, but with catchy Albanian rap as well. Moreover, the audience practically falling into rapture here, numerous Italians in particular, he performed what many think one of the finest songs of our neighbours - "Caruso".

After Tony, the central stage featured a performance by the Rovinj band "Dream Project", who played foreign and local hits until wee hours, keeping the audience on their feet and in great spirits. The other stage, the one on the Rivijera Square, was graced by the Kristian Terzić sextet, featuring Tasha. The six-member band, gathered and led by the best Croatian pianist and winner of many awards Kristian Terzić, performed the best known jazz standards and jazz fusion covers of soul and funky hits. Afterwards, the bands from Rovinj - Grupa VIP and the Master Band - performed.

It should be pointed out this Rovinj Night was coloured by the characteristic food and beverages, which proved to be quite a bait for customers and their palates on account of favourable prices. The very evening begun with the attractive performance by the members of the Marching Band, who – escorted by majorettes, went around many locations in the town, and invited those from and in Rovinj with their songs and music to follow them in large numbers to one of the most beautiful and longest manifestations organised by the Town Tourist Board – the famous and unique Rovinj Night.
