Easter weekend in Rovinj attracts over 5,000 visitors
As every Easter, the town’s tourist board prepared a rich and diverse program for everyone enjoying the Easter celebration in Rovinj. The two-day “Easter in Rovinj” event hit the mark, for as many as 5,255 guests arrived, once again proving that Rovinj is the top tourist destination in Croatia. Nearly one third of visitors came from Italy, followed by guests from Germany, Austria, Croatia and Slovenia.
However, as passion for music, travel and good food is a universal language, this Easter weekend Rovinj’s streets and town were brimming with excitement and positivity shared by everyone. The Easter breakfast included as many as 2,000 servings of sweet and salty delicacies, such as ham, homemade bread, spring onions and hard-boiled eggs and, of course, sweet fritters, angel wings, peach-shaped cookies and Easter bread. Delicious holiday breakfast was served on a lovely and sunny Easter morning and accompanied by performances by numerous local artists and guest performers. Sunday breakfast was preceded by a display by Rovinj Majorettes and the Rovinj Brass Band and a performance by the Stand by duo. The great finale of the Easter celebration was the Music (K)nights evening concert.
The celebration of Easter started on Saturday with festive performances by the Davor and Gracijano Terzić duo and members of the Roxanne Gymnastics Club. Young gymnasts have demonstrated not only their dance and acrobatic skills, but also their artistic gift, as they have decorated Easter eggs and made roses during the morning street workshop they later offered guests as souvenirs. The first day of the Easter weekend was marked by another excellent performance by the "Eligio and Boris" duo and the celebratory atmosphere was even greater owing to the savoury specialties of Blue and Green Istria prepared by members of the House of the Batana Association.
