The first out of the total of two announced Rovinj Nights, a traditional manifestation with which the Town Tourist Board in a way says good-bye to the season and thanks all the guests for coming and locals on their efforts and hard work invested into the success of the tourist season, was definitely marked by the local Le Mond Band and their guest, Evica Čiček .

With their performances on the central town square, they thrilled the audience that swayed in the rhythms of rock, soul and funky music until wee hours. The band front-man (Renato Orbanić) was once again magnificent in his metamorphosis into the queen of rock Tina Turner, making those sitting down get up from their comfortable positions and dance in the rhythm of the most famous grandmother of rock and roll. Prior to Le Mond, the audience were able to enjoy a show by the Nola band from Pula, the winner of this year’s prestigious award of Porin.

The Rivijera Square also featured the members of a cappella group Ragusa, who thrilled all the buffs of this type of singing, but also brought in the colours, scents and of course music of Dalmatia and the Mediterranean. Afterwards, the same stage had Prijatelji from Žminj singing, the polkas and waltzes of who made those present dance. The same square offered great food and drinks, thanks to the engagement of the association of Kuća o batani, while industrious employees of Maistra made sure there should be plenty of anchovies, squid and other sea food bites on grill. They worked away at the quay, offering from their stalls the local specialties as well, such as pljukanci (pastry), ombolo (pork cutlet) and sausages, but such delicatessen such as tuna fillet and shrimp as well.
