A large number of invited guests at the Rovinj Heritage Museum attended the opening ceremony for the 53rd Rovinj Art Colony with 36 artists participating with their works.
The awards jury comprising Branka Benčić, Nataša Ivančević and Nataša Šegota Lah presented the first award to Alen Floričić for his successful manipulation of video image and development of video art in Croatia.
The second Heritage Museum Award went to Tomislav Brajnović, while Matija Debeljuh won the award in the “Most Successful Young Artist” category.
In addition, two purchase awards were presented – to Vlasta Delimar and Vladimir Dodig Trokut – and the honorary Rovinj Town Prize “Batana” to Vlado Martek.
This year’s edition of the Rovinj Art Colony number 53 will be available to visitors until 18 August, followed by a retrospective exhibition by Bruno Mascarelli, one of the members of the Valdibora group beside Žarko Naumović, Zora Matić and Marčelo Brajnović, and founder of the Art Colony and Grisija, an exhibition under the open sky.
