However, the central and perhaps the most emotional part of Popolana, successfully taking place for the fifth year in a row under the motto of “From streets and squares to nature and tourism through sports", was the finish of the participants to the humanitarian walking tour. That is, within Popolana, humanitarian campaigns take place unified under the name "1+1= a million steps". This year’s campaign, with the subtitle of “For You and For Me” was organised on behalf of Mr Emilo Sinčić, a citizen of Rovinj suffering from multiple sclerosis, aiming at procurement of an electric wheelchair. Given this is a well known citizen and a teacher of music, people of Rovinj really showed their best face.

They walked the trek of ten kilometres for their ill neighbour, shaping the “Big Heart of Rovinj” by walking from the Cistern to Marshal Tito Square, the very name of the humanitarian trek. At the same time, T-shirts with the logo, flower pots and handiwork were sold at the square, so the two days of Popolana gathered in over 22 thousand Croatian kuna for the procurement of the electric wheelchair.
