Rovinian night - Fireworks

Exactly at the moment when more than 40.000 visitors were in search of the best spot and location from which to watch the midnight fireworks, the storm started. This is something that organizers of big events fear the most but cannot do anything about.

A few minutes before midnight, the rain started pouring heavily. The rain shower made people run around looking for any kind of shelter. The luckiest and the quickest managed to find it, whereas the others, seeing that they would not make it, agreed that summer rain and wet clothes are not the worst things that can happen to them.

Screaming and shouting, yet also smiling and looking up at the sky, they remained where they found themselves at that particular moment. And it was worth their while because, according to the real connoisseurs and those who saw the fireworks shows organized during the previous years, this last one, enriched with raindrops and lightning flashes, was the most beautiful so far. The sky above the town of St. Euphemia was miraculous. The dense raindrops created a transparent curtain behind which the flaring magic transpired, while the lightning flashes seen far away on the horizon added to the thrill of the viewers and the overall mood. In spite of the rain, or maybe just because of it, this year’s fireworks show that lasted for more than 15 minutes, will surely stay in the memory of the visitors as the wettest, yet most beautiful and thrilling one so far.
