Due to a long summer downpour, which was pouncing down on Rovinj around 10 pm, the announced concert by Paul Young was cancelled. Unfortunately, the rain, accompanied by wind, did not allow the famous English and world star to present himself with his by now recognizable and evergreen tunes. However, just when it seemed the concert would remain in the sphere of unrealized wishes of the organizer and the singer’s fans, who came to attend from neighbouring countries and towns, Paul Young, the author of blockbuster hits, such as “Every Time You Go Away“ which is performed most often, showed the greatness of an English gentleman, promising the audience he would meet them tomorrow - same time, same place.
Rain however could not mar the atmosphere and the beauty of the central Rovinj Night event – the fireworks. On the contrary, bathed in raindrops and lit by lightning, it proved even more spectacular and interesting, so it expectedly caused the spectators’ gasps of approval and ovations. This year, the fireworks were fired from several points as well, from the Large Pier and the ferryboat “Sturago“.
Along with spectacular fireworks, Anelidi and Vesna Nežić Ružić from Pula were received well too, who, aided by local singers - Sergio Predeno Gato, Riccardo Bosazzi Quartet and the Big Wave Band entertained at the Riviera Square. Simultaneously, the central town stage featured a concert by the Music (K)nights and Tasha.
