Creative fresco workshop "BUON FRESCO"
The workshop provides an exciting and unique opportunity for everyone to try their hand at fresco painting, or fresco painting technique.
The workshop will review fresco wall painting throughout history in Istria and briefly present the fresco technique through the stages of its development.
Each participant will prepare and transfer fresco plaster "arriccio" to the substrate according to the recipe of the old "buon fresco" technique, create a scale sketch, or pausira, as a template for painting, prepare and transfer the final layer of "intonaco" fresco plaster, lay the pausira on the fresh substrate, paint motifs with painter's pigments, give it a final treatment and, if desired, sign in Glagolitic script.
