Last Sunday, during this second Sunday in August, the traditional Rovinj open sky exhibition was held, the show being recognized throughout the Mediterranean as its largest, under the name of Grisija. This exhibition which proudly bears the name of one of quaintest alleys of the old town centre gathered 233 authors this year, out of which 65 boast college degrees, while 15 exhibitors are students of visual arts academies. The remaining participants are self-taught painters who, this year too, came to Rovinj to the one-day exhibition to show what they mastered, and to what extent, what they painted or made i.e. how they perceive the world around them. However, despite their original works and impressions, the jury composed of Berislav Valušek, a Professor from the Rijeka Visual Arts Academy, Daina Glavočić, the curator of the Rijeka Contemporary Art Museum, and Sabina Salamon, Head of the Labin Town Gallery, had to select and award the best.

The first prize – six thousand kuna and the traditional prosciutto – was claimed by Roberta Vilić from Zagreb with her collection of paintings. The second prize, five thousand kuna and sheep cheese, went to Tereza Pavlović from Poreč, while the Award of the local museum, in the amount of five thousand kuna, was won by Damir Stojnić from Rijeka. An author from Rovinj - Saša Vadanjel, with his collection of black and white photographs, received the Applied Arts Award.

The works purchased by the jury amounted to 4.5 thousand kuna this year as well. The EmmeEmme Studio bought a painting by Marčelo Brajnović, the Arh Studio one by Nikola Ražov, and Maistra a work by the local sculptor Aleksandro Garbin, while Esel bought a work by Dražen Vitolović and Abila a work by Luka Nreka. The traditional purchase award by the Rovinj Tourist Board was received by Korana Lukić Šuran from Pula, for her collection of paintings.
