And, while the central stage sang together with the Dalmatian performers, the one located on Rivijera Square featured great joy caused by the Anelidi from Pula and domestic musicians Sergio Preden Gato and the Riccardo Bosazzi Quintet. The Fishing Tradition Evening also included a show by the cultural associations of “Marco Gabin” and “Stjepan Žiža”, the folk group “Batana”, as well as the one by members of the Rovinj Marching Band. An exhibition in the open was set up, where some of the exhibits from the private museum of “Trani” were shown.

The performance by Dalmatian musicians was preceded by a festive launch of the batana into the sea. After two launches of this season that had already been performed, the “Antea” and the “Leonberg” batana, it was the turn for the vessel of captain Toni Benussi, constructed in the far 1985. The boat served its owner well during the three long decades. Captain Toni says the new sea beauty will be one of the principal providers for the ancient and known fishing family of Benussi for a number of years to come. The new life of the Scurleina was breathed in by the Rovinj shipbuilder Mladen Takač, with 80 per cent of worn out planks having been replaced. He spent over 120 work hours in order to complete the reconstruction.

The fishing evening itself would not have been the same, had it not been for a quality offer of food and drink, while the palate was catered for by industrious employees of “Maistra” and members of the cooperatives Vitis and Rubinum.
