The Rovinj's Night - Spectacular fireworks lit the sea and the old town core
Traditional manifestation with gastronomic offer, cultural and entertaining concerts and spectacular fireworks
###
Thirty minutes before midnight, the sound of rockets rushing to the sky made several thousand visitors to the famous Rovinj Night to look high up. When they reached the goal, the sky momentarily shone with thousands of sparks, thus announcing the beginning of spectacular and long-lasting fireworks, one of the most beautiful and oldest ones in the Mediterranean.
Its rockets launched from Veliki Mol and a ferry, the fireworks are a trademark of the Rovinj Night, and their concept is associated with the desire of all tourist employees to thank the guests of the Town for their visit by a major spectacle and say goodbye to the summer in the most beautiful way.
Because of its long duration and the splendid way the rockets lit up the sky, it seemed the night had turned into day for a moment. Vanessa Mae, one of the most famous violinists in the world, played on the CD and only supplemented the atmosphere.
The fireworks were preceded by a performance of Giuliano, who played his greatest hits and his versions of popular songs from the early 1980s, literally putting the audience on fire. The audience responded excellently to the former New Wave songs, singing them with Giuliano with all their might, but also proved that they knew the lyrics from his own albums.
Zagreb’s Jinx, who kept the atmosphere hot on the central town square after the fireworks, saw plenty of ovations and encores. The local band Le Mond played on the same central stage and their performances of famous international hits were standard and simply excellent.
Good music was also available on the other stage where the guests were entertained by Give me Five and Master Band. The event also included culinary delicacies.
The gastro offer was rich and different – we noticed the menu no longer included some less typical littoral dishes that were replaced by seafood delicacies – grilled pilchards, calamari, as well as some specialties such as salmon and swordfish fillet. The second one of the three Rovinj nights was organized by the employees of the Tourist Board together with the hotel & restaurant company Maistra and the members of the Batana House Association.
