Grisia 2011 - a traditional outdoor exhibition on Grisija Street
###
For forty-four years in a row, since the far 1967, during the second Sunday of August, the stone paved Grisija in the old town core is witness to the largest one-day exhibition of the same name in the open in the Mediterranean.
###
This year as well, the Grisija in Rovinj gathered a large number of those exhibiting, who came to present themselves to the audience with their works, talent and skill. There was a little bit for everybody, from paintings and sculptures by trained and amateur artists, to children’s works and works by future students of visual arts academies. Decorative and practical objects have now traditionally been an unavoidable part of the exhibition in the open, just like performances by individual artists.
This year too the jury had no easy task to declare the best of the best. Nevertheless, Marija Ivetić, a senior curator in the Town of Pazin Museum, Eugen Borkovsky, artist and director of the gallery in Grožnjan, and Jasmina Bavoljak, a senior curator in Klovićevi dvori, decided that the first award of seven and a half thousand HRK plus the traditional prosciutto will go to Tea Bičić. The second prize, five thousand HRK, went to Jasna Šikanja, while the third of equal amount went to Ana Glažar. The fourth prize in the amount of four and a half thousand HRK went into the hands of the painter from Rovinj, Marija Ćurčić. The applied arts award was received by Rea Vargalović.
Four other prizes were given. The award by the Town of Rovinj Tourist Board in the amount of four and a half thousand HRK went to Nataša Bezić, the one by “Maistra” to Silvana Konjevoda, the “Esel” prize to Milan Marin, and the “Arh Studia” award to Alem Hadžiegrić. The jury congratulated Silena Košara for her photography, Olja Grubić for drawings, Elvis Berton in the category of paintings, and Militsa Marx for art campaigns.
