Within the Baroque Music Festival, the church of Sv. Franje (St. Francis) was the host of the concert by ensemble „I Fiori musicali“, comprised of musicians from different parts of the world who were brought together by similar affinities towards musical expression.

Ensemble „I Fiori musicali“ was founded in Vienna in 2002, comprises of female soprano Constanza Holzl, female flutist Angelica Castello, female cembalist Marinka Brecelj and Jorge Daniel Valencija at viol.

Program called „Pjev muza“ (the Muse song) - music by Barbara Strozzi and her contemporaries was performed for the concert audience. She is one of the most prolific Italian composers of the 17th century, whose compositions are included in numerous European collections. Her compositions are primarily vocal, and her texts are full of irony and sarcasm. Also, due to life circumstances, Barbara Strozzi is considered the first female professional composer, in a literal sense of the word.

In addition to compositions by Barbara Strozzi, namely „Lamenta“, „La travagliata“ and „Desideri vani“ which were well received, the audience also heard compositions by her contemporaries and composers Isabella Leonardi, Anna Amalija Preuben and Maria Anne Martinez.

The program by the Italian baroque female authors was performed with intention to authentically present the production of the selected period written from perspective of „a female writer“.

The audiences gave big applauses to the female soprano Constanza Holzl, and to a great cembalist Marinka Brecelj, who performed works by Marie Anne Martinez (Sonata in G-major for harpsichord) and flautist Angelica Castello.
